"Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Revelation 4:11 In recent days there has been a renewed interest in worship. Many have suddenly begun to realize that we have been created to bring God pleasure. It is with that awareness that our church seeks to glorify God in everything we say and do. We study His Word with the desire to know Him. We give with the desire to thank Him. We serve with the desire to honor Him. And we sing with the desire to bring Him glory. He alone is worthy of our praise!
As in most churches, music is very important at Twin Oaks. We understand that many who attend have their preference in style of Christian music; therefore we endeavor to provide a variety in each service. In any service you may hear a praise chorus, a hymn, a flavor of southern gospel, and even something contemporary. All congregational songs are projected on PowerPoint; yet for those who prefer to still use the hymn book, they are encouraged to do so.
Many dress casually for our church services while others choose to be more traditional. We believe that scripture emphasizes the importance of modesty; but beyond that, we leave the choice of style up to each individual.
SPECIAL MUSIC Special music at Twin Oaks includes a wide variety in styles of Christian music. The Lord has blessed our congregation with many talented individuals and we seek to give many of them the opportunity to minister. Local singing group "New Beginning" calls Twin Oaks home and performs special music regularly during our Sunday morning services. We also encourage our children and youth to develop their musical abilities and provide them many opportunities to participate. ADULT CHOIR [Open to all church members who are interested] Twin Oaks is known for its enthusiastic adult choir. Members of our congregation make up our choir and whether it be a good ol’ Southern gospel number or something more contemporary, each and every song is done with spirit and for the glory of God.
DRAMA [Open to all church members who are interested] Drama has become a very important part of many church services in recent days. At Twin Oaks we have used drama in areas such as our Passion Play, Christmas programs and mission trips. We believe that drama can be a very important means of teaching God’s Word and we look forward to the Lord enabling us to develop it even more in the future.
